5yo Sorrel Ottb Sweet Mare
lawn, garden & patio in lancaster, pa - shelly is a coming 5yo sorrel ottb mare (foaled april 2007)
- she was purchased for our 12yo daughter not knowing she had recently been off the track - and she
is just not ready for a horse like this. she is off the track since early november - we purchased
her at the thurmont sale - had watched/admired her go in the ring - was beautiful and very calm &
sweet. we were pleased that she continued her sweet demeaner after bringing her home - but she is
very green for regular riding and needs an advanced rider/trainer to work with her - along with some
additional time to relax after coming off the track. she has not been a problem to handle - my
twelve yo has been spending time with her regularly grooming and leading her is not a problem
(sometimes she gets in your space but let her know and she backs off). our trainer has lunged her
and gotten on her in the round pen and she was calm - not acting like she would do anything stupid -
but she is very muscular and we just in no way would put a young child on her....
